Kathryn Bernardo








Kathryn Chandria Manuel Bernardo, known as Kathryn Bernardo (born 26 March 1996 in Cabanatuan City, Philippines), is a Filipina actress.

She is best known for her role as Mara in the primetime Filipino drama, Mara Clara. Bernardo is currently a contract artist ofStar Magic and ABS-CBN.




and most recently starred as Ana Bartolome in the 2011 drama film, Way Back Home.




She also played the main protagonist Mikay in the primetime series Princess and I.



Early life

Kathryn was born in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija and was a former student of the OB Montessori Center Inc. in Greenhills and took homeschooling at Angelicum College taking ABPsychology. She is now currently studying at Enderun Colleges and shifted her course to BSBA Marketing.



Television
Bernardo began acting in 2003, appearing as the young Cielo in It Might Be You. She went on to play different roles in other ABS-CBN shows like Krystala and Vietnam Rose before landing a permanent spot in the hit kiddie show, Goin' Bulilit.



2010–11: Mara Clara / Growing Up
In 2010, Bernardo went on to dramatic roles by landing the role of the young Victoria in ABS-CBN's Magkaribal and in GMA's Endless Love as the young Jenny. Coincidentally, both premiered in the same day of 28th of June, 2010.




Her first breakthrough role was Mara in the remake of Mara Clara with her co-star and real life bestfriend Julia Montes. Since its premiere, the teleserye was a consistent leader in primetime ratings. Affirming its success, the show even picked up a nomination in the 2011 Banff World Media Festival in the "Telenovelas & Soap Operas" category.



After the primetime teleserye finished, Bernardo soon began appearing in the Sunday afternoon teen show, Growing Up. Together again with Julia Montes, the show starred other up and coming ABS-CBN teen stars like Kiray Celis, Diego Loyzaga and Daniel Padilla. In the show, Bernardo played the role of 15-year old Ella, who lives with her single mother. The show premiered strongly ranking number 2 overall in the afternoon block.



2012–13: Princess and I


The actress currently topbills Princess and I, a romance-drama royalty-themed television series, following the success of the youth-oriented show, Growing Up in 2011. Playing the role of Mikay/Princess Areeyah, the teleserye is touted as one of the grandest, being the first Philippine show to be shot in Bhutan. In this show, Bernardo is paired once again to her Growing Up partner, Daniel Padilla. Aside from Padilla, Bernardo also has two other leading men, Enrique Gil and Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 former contestant Khalil Ramos. Other veteran actors like Gretchen Barretto and Albert Martinez join the cast.

The show is currently enjoying success being the number one primetime show as of September 2012.




Film career
Kathryn Bernardo's film career started in 2004 with the movie Gagamboy. However, it was only in 2011 where she, together with her Mara Clara co-star Julia Montes, was launched as lead role in the movie Way Back Home. The film opened at first place with an estimated P18 million within its first week surpassing other foreign films shown the same week in Philippine cinemas, like The Smurfs and Conan the Barbarian according to Box Office Mojo.

In that same year, Bernardo joined Regal Film's Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Shake, Rattle & Roll 13. From being known as a young dramatic actress, Bernardo tried the horror genre by taking one of the lead roles in the third story, Parola.[13] Her performance received positive reviews. In a review for ClickTheCity.com, Philbert Dy calls Kathryn Bernardo's performance as "fantastic". He said in his review, "A fantastic performance from Kathryn Bernardo ties it all together. It might just be one of the best things that has ever come out ofShake Rattle and Roll."




She has starred with Vice Ganda together with her love team partner, Daniel Padilla in the 2012 MMFF entry, Sisterakas.
Other ventures
Aside from her television and film careers, Bernardo is also a popular print-ad and commercial model having been chosen as an endorser for big brands like Bench and Coca-Cola, among others.

For Princess and I, Bernardo released a single for the show's soundtrack. The single is titled "Mula Noon Hanggang Ngayon", originally sung by Lea Salonga. The album reached Gold status as of September 2012.


Enrique Gil






Enrique Mari Gil or better known as Enrique Gil (born March 30, 1992) is a Filipino actor and dancer.


He is currently under contract with ABS-CBN's Star Magic and co-managed by Stages Production Specialists, Inc. He became famous for portraying the role of BJ in the teleserye Budoy and Prince Jao / Dasho Jao in Princess and I. In the Philippines, he's also known as the “Dougie King” for his signature dance moves to the song “Teach Me How to Dougie”. After dancing "Gentleman" by Psy at Vice Ganda's Concert, he is now hailed as "Gentleman King".


Enrique Gil has a Bass-baritone vocal range.



Life
Enrique Gil was born on March 30, 1992 in Cebu City. He is the son of Enrique Amadeo Gil Sr. and Barbara Anne Gil (Bambi Gil). He has an elder brother Enrique Javier (Javy) and his younger sister Diandra Frances (Andie).He is a Cebuano with Spanish roots. He also graduated high school in 2008 from Manresa School in Paranaque City.
Took up Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at San Beda College-Alabang until 1st year.




CareerGil started acting in the summer of 2008. He was 16 years old then, and boredom led him to enroll in commercial modeling workshops as well as musical theater workshops conducted by Trumpets.





He appeared in a series of TV commercials, including one of Lewis and Pearl's ads. He was later launched as part of ABS-CBN's Star Magic Circle Batch 16. He landed his first television role in the action-drama series Pieta where he played Harold.










Before Pieta, he has made a cameo appearance in I Love Betty La Fea as one of the Ecomodels.







In 2009, During the taping of Pieta, his mom convinced him to audition in the sitcom George and Cecil. As soon as head writer and director direk Joey Reyes saw Enrique, he immediately cast him to be on the show.







Later he was also cast in the indie film Pitas as a brother of Kristel Moreno.


In 2010, he co-starred in the indie war film Diego and His Brothers. In April, he joined ASAP XV as one of Star Magic's "Gigger Boys".









In May, he co-starred in the teleseryeRosalka where he played the role of Andrew. He was originally set to appear in Kokey @ Ako, but his character was written off in favor of Jason Francisco. He played the character of Joco, little brother of Paolo Barredo (Gerald Anderson) in the film Till My Heartaches End.




He got his first hosting stint in the ABS-CBN teen variety show, Shoutout!.







In 2011, he got demoted from host to a regular performer in Shoutout!, which was revamped and renamed to Shoutout!: Level Up. The show was eventually cancelled due to poor ratings. He played Jim in the 10th episode of Your Song Presents: Kim. He got his break when he was cast to play Michael Miranda — originally played by Diether Ocampo — in the2011 remake of Mula Sa Puso.




He played Troy Cabrera in Good Vibes.







Gil admitted, during the Good Vibes press conference, that he was set to appear in the ABS-CBN's remakeof María la del Barrio but had to let go of his role due to conflicting schedules.


He replaced Albie Casiño in the upcoming Star Cinema film Way Back Home — the film debut ofKathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes. He appeared as BJ Maniego in Budoy. He was featured in Zia Quizon's Music Video debut entitled Ako Na Lang.







In 2012, he starred as Dasho Jao Rinpoche in Princess and I. He was cast in the movie The Reunion, a Filipino teen romantic comedy film directed by Frasco Mortiz. He was included in the movie Amorosa, making this his first horror film. Later in the year, he was cast in The Strangers, one of the official entries for the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival and his first MMFF movie.










In 2013, he was featured in Myrtle Sarrosa's Mr. Kupido music video, which was released in February. Enrique also portrayed Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile on the ABS-CBN's longest running drama anthology, Maalaala Mo Kaya.







Following this, he is slated to star in a number of new projects. Beginning July 8, 2013, he will top-bill the teleserye entitled Muling Buksan Ang Puso, with his co-stars from The Reunionand The Strangers, Julia Montes and Enchong Dee. He is also co-starring in a movie with Julia, Martin del Rosario and Pokwang. The movie is rumored to be a romantic comedy underStar Cinema and is tentatively titled Call Girl.
