Mary Jean Lastimosa (born 23 November 1987), also known as MJ Lastimosa, is a Filipino businesswoman and model who won the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 national pageant as Miss Universe Philippines 2014.
Personal life
Lastimosa is from North Cotabato, Mindanao in the southern Philippines where she was raised in a very religious household.She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mindanao.Lastimosa is fitness advocate and has therefore established a fitness center as her business in Davao City.
Pageantry
While going to school for a degree in Engineering, Lastimosa participated in local pageants and have won the titles of Mutya ng Dabaw 2008 and Reyna ng Aliwan 2008. In 2011, she, for the first time, competed in Binibining Pilipinas 2011 and although was one of the early favorites, failed to take home the crown. She instead placed second runner-up to Miss Universe Philippines 2011Shamcey Supsup.
She again tried her luck at the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 pageant the following year making it to the Top 12 but failing to crack the Final 5. As her third attempt, she went back to competing and participated for the 2014 edition of Binibining Pilipinas. She was one of the heavy favorites to snag the coveted title as pageant experts and aficionados believe she could continue the Philippines' Miss Universe Top 5 streak since 2010. On March 30, 2014, Lastimosa was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2014. and has been awarded the opportunity of representing thePhilippines at Miss Universe 2014.

Mary Jean will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2014 where she will compete to succeed the current titleholder, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela.
